FISH CUTTER/BLOCKMAN

We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Fish Cutter/Blockman to join our team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent knife skills, and a proactive attitude toward maintaining quality and safety standards. This role will require you to work across two locations, Vauxhall and Coulsdon, working closely with our client, James Knight, a well-established and reputable company. This opportunity provides variety and flexibility in your work environment while contributing to a highly respected operation.

Duties in this Role:

• Preparing and Packing Products: Prepare and pack fish products in line with customer requirements, ensuring James Knight’s standards, brand, and ethos in quality, presentation, and safety are upheld through pride in workmanship.
• Knife Checks: Conduct knife checks at the start of each shift to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Customer Orders: Prepare and pack customer orders while ensuring all traceability procedures are accurately logged at the required stages.
• Stock Control: Prepare stock according to stock requirements and ensure proper stock rotation to maintain quality and freshness.
• General Duties: Assist with other tasks as needed within the department, including cleaning, training, and maintaining a tidy and organized workspace.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a fish cutter/blockman or similar role is highly desirable.
• Strong knife-handling skills and knowledge of fish preparation.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet performance targets.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to health and safety standards.
