Fleet managers are now being warned that there is a hidden deadline when it comes to applying for the DVS permit. When you look at October, you will see that goods vehicles that weigh over 12 tonnes now need to have a permit so that they can drive into Greater London. This is all based on the star rating and it basically shows how much those who work in HGV jobs or even driver jobs can see from their cab. It stops people from being put at risk when there is no need. It has been announced that the enforcement is going to be introduced from March because of the amount of upheaval that will be required from HGV drivers. This is also designed to try and give some support to those who may well need it as the result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Right now, it would seem that there is a deadline for those who work in the driving industry or even in transport recruitment. Of course, only time will tell what the future holds but right now it looks like there is a lot of upheaval as the result of the coronavirus pandemic. The deadline basically does not allow for time if, for any reason at all, your application is rejected. This means that the applications need to be sent out in plenty of time so that you can avoid any headaches when it comes to liability. Of course, any additional factors that have to be taken into account would include the fact that applications need to be sent out in good enough because manufacturers are taking upwards of 2 weeks to respond to any star rating issues. Fleet managers need to make sure that they take this into account because there is an additional deadline date which is January 2021.
