The Road Haulage Association is trying to call on the government to try and maintain the EU and UK market access for after Brexit. This happened because the House of Lords and the committee have chosen to publish their road, maritime and rail report. They have done this so that they can boost the amount of market access that they have. The call comes from the House of Lords and they want to try and make sure that the negotiation priorities are clear and that they also have the right permits.
The RHA executive has also stated that the supply chain is going to grind to a halt and that they can only fall back on a quota of permits if they look at international haulage. Of course, a lot of this is on politicians because they are the ones who really need to make this happen. The RHA have given evidence and they are also trying to make sure that the whole transition is as smooth as possible. That being said, there is more that needs to be done and if you work in driver recruitment Ireland, driving agency Ireland or even with a driving agency Ireland then you will understand this more than anyone.
Of course, only time will tell if this is going to be a clean break but it is safe to say that a lot of people are nervous and they are also concerned about the backlash that is going to fall on the industry. If everyone takes the right precautions and if they make the effort to really do their part then there is no reason why it won't all work out. If you want more updates then check back on this page.
