Those who work with a driving agency or even in driver recruitment will know more than anyone how much zero emission zones are changing. The City of London Corporation has various plans that will help them to reduce traffic by over 50%. They are also going to try and make London's district for business the very first zero emissions zone. Over the course of the next 10 years, the traffic is going to be lowered by a staggering 25% and that they also want to reach 50% by the year 2044. It has been confirmed that a lot of smaller zones are going to be applied up and down the city. This will be much different when compared to the congestion charge and even the low emission zone as well. When loaders are facing even more restrictions on top of this, it's safe to say that deliveries will be made on smaller, much more environmentally friendly vehicles as well.
The policy manager for vans and even urban transport is going to speak on the matter even further at a later date. He believes that the initial cost for buying electric vehicles is going to be reduced and that eventually it is going to become a very affordable and realistic option. Secondly, there is a sufficient charging infrastructure put into place. The FTA have noted that a proposal will also include a charging hub and that this is going to be done across the nation. This is another example of how the government's patchwork approach is trying to make a change. That being said, this is going to extend across the nation. Eventually, the people who work in the industry are hoping to make a difference but only time will tell.
