Germany are set to agree to much higher CO2 prices in terms of transport and heating. Germany's parliament are now going to doublet the starting price for carbon dioxide emissions for the heating and transport industry. The charge is going to be introduced in 2021. The DPA have reported that they are going to reach a deal and that they are also going to try and get a package of measures in place so that they can try and tackle everything to do with climate change.
Germany are part of an EU-wide carbon emissions market but when you look at the way things are right now, you will soon see that the transport and even the heating industry are exempt from the entire trading system. Angela Merkel's government originally set the price for the emissions that come from transport and even heating but right now, the Green party, who hold a key number of votes, have demanded that the current number be higher.
DPA reported that the charge is going to start at 25 euros and that the economists have stated that they are going to be much more effective in getting people to shift from what is known as being fossil fuels to a much more renewable energy source.
The revenue that is generated from this will then be used to try and lower energy prices. These are very high in Germany, and this is especially the case when you look at the rest of Europe. This is going to affect those who work as part of a driving agency Ireland, or even those who are looking for driving jobs Ireland as well. Of course, if you work in driver recruitment Ireland then this should also be monitored.
