The FTA, or the Freight Transport Association have reacted to the statement that was released yesterday. They have stated that they are going to delay the start of their clean air zones. They have also said that they are going to try and take the steps that are available to them right now.
The FTA have stated that they have been talking to the government and that they have discussed the issues. On top of this, they have agreed that the right systems are not in place right now. There is far too much chance at the moment that things are going to wrong, and that there is a lot of chaos happening right now. This could lead to HGV drivers not being able to provide the service that they want.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter whether you work in driver jobs or whether you work as part of a driver recruitment agency, because the regulations need to be in place so that everything can operate as it should. Driver jobs Ireland may suffer if the system is implemented too soon, and it is safe to say that effective logistics are vital if Britain wants to carry on trading. This will have an impact on more than 7 million people and with Brexit underway it is safe to say that right now, a lot of things are very uncertain. More needs to be done if people want a secure logistics industry.
Of course, only time will tell if these regulations end up having a huge impact or not, but right now it would seem that the delay is more than welcomed. The clear air zone delay will certainly cause disruption for the time being.
